DEEP: THE MEANING OF MAKING
Spinoza, Feature film, in post-production.
Vleesdag, Feature film. Out since october 2025
We’re DEEP.Amsterdam, two people who’ve spent an unreasonable amount of time chasing perfection for brands, and finding better stories along the way.
In Japan they say: “The path itself is the destination.”
We tried… and, well, the proof is in the pudding.
Perfect? Maybe once. But who’d want to stop there?
After years of filming, producing, and editing around the world — for big brands, NGOs, and just for fun — we decided to do things our own way.
Sometimes with big crews and impressive schedules,
sometimes with duct tape, optimism, and snacks.
What we’ve learned? It’s never about the scale.
It’s about staying curious, and caring enough to make it right.
We’ve seen big ideas collapse under sushi and meetings,
and small ones turn into magic because someone stayed kind, curious, and open enough to finish.
That’s what we like: people who love making things happen not out of duty, but out of joy.
We believe in perfection within reason:
Limits don’t restrict us; they focus us.
That’s where creativity lives, between ambition and reality.
Perfection, to us, is the art of using what you have time, talent, and trust, beautifully. We don’t call that compromise. We call it craft.
So if you want people who keep it simple, stay calm, and a little bit funny, that’s us.
We don’t sell miracles.
We deliver meaning.
Deep.Amsterdam
We enjoy. We learn. We deliver.
Smarter. Sharper. Better.
25 YEARS
Film / Photo / Post-production
So… we’ve been creating media productions for 25 years. We started out as editors for music videos for artists like DJ Jean, Klubbheads, and Party Animals, quickly becoming a go-to supplier for TMF. From there, we expanded into camera work, production, and directing. Our team grew to twelve people, and we produced commercials for brands such as Samsung, Heineken, Suit Supply, and Vodafone. We also played a key role in the success of Nick & Simon, Jan Smit, Ilse DeLange, DI-rect, and many other Dutch pop artists.
When the music industry collapsed — and even Nick & Simon eventually split up — the budgets dried up. Targeting multinationals seemed like the logical next step, but filming CEOs and producing endless corporate messages wasn’t why I started this company. So, we looked for something with more substance. We traveled for Médecins Sans Frontières, UNICEF, Terre des Hommes, Edukans, and SOS Children’s Villages.
Incredible journeys, meaningful stories, real people. Until COVID — and the endless wars around the world — brought that to a halt too. And then, right in the middle of that chaos, we decided — completely against the tide — to return to the reason we founded deep.amsterdam in the first place: making feature films and documentaries. After COVID and an intense strategy retreat, we chose to move forward with a smaller team. We produced the feature documentary Thunderdome Never Dies. Last year, we shot and edited our first feature film Vleesdag (in theaters from September 25th), and this past May we completed Spinoza — a project we both filmed and co-produced, which is currently in post-production.
We have everything in-house: from high-end to mid-range cameras and lenses, lights and sound equipment, three editing suites, and a grading suite. We can handle the entire process — from script to final product. But more importantly, we bring experience, a strong network, and the flexibility to operate at any scale.
